Lancashire One was probably the first online local TV channel in the UK. We started way back in 2009, but sadly took the decision to close in 2013 following the introduction of a goverment licensed UK wide Local Digital Television Programme Services.
Assisted by University Of Central Lancashire the channel was a great success helping launch the careers of a number of young journalists, video production and performing arts graduates.
There are now 34 Local TV channels that have gone on air since november 2013: Grimsby, London, Norwich, Nottingham, Glasgow, Brighton, Sheffield, Belfast, Bristol ,Cardiff, Leeds, Newcastle, Solent, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Oxford, Manchester, Cambridge, Lancashire, Swansea, Teesside, Dundee, Ayr, Aberdeen, Mold, Reading, Basingstoke, York, Kent, Salisbury, Guildford, Scarborough and Carlise.
Most can be found on Freeview channel 7 & 8. Some can be found on Virgin 159 and Sky 117
